This is the tenth year that Hospice UK partners with Birdsong Charity Consulting to provide the opportunity for hospices to gather the opinions of their staff and volunteers in a cost-effective way.
The survey consists of 47 carefully crafted questions that explore the issues that matter most to hospice staff. A shorter version of the survey is also available for hospice volunteers.
After the survey has closed, each hospice is provided with a report that benchmarks their results against the other hospices that have taken part, along with a wider benchmark of UK charities. Last summer 40 hospices from around the UK took part in the Birdsong survey.
Key facts
- Registration: If you would like your hospice to be part of the Birdsong Survey this year, you will need to register online. Online registration is open now and closes on May 11
- Survey dates: The survey itself will be open from June 4 - July 13
- Budget: The core survey cost is the same as 2017: £300 + VAT
- Reporting options: There are lots of options for segmenting your survey data and adding open questions, at additional cost.
- Top Performers: New this year is the opportunity to challenge your organisation a little more and measure your results against Birdsong’s Top Performers benchmark. This benchmark is based on the survey results of the top 40 (out of 200) performing Birdsong surveys of the last three years. The 40 sets of survey results making up this benchmark are from charities based around the UK with between 25 and 320 staff.
