Cicely Saunders Institute opens to the public for Open House Weekend

The Cicely Saunders Institute in south London will be open to the public as part of the capital’s Open House weekend in September.

The Institute, named after the founder of the modern hospice  movement is the world’s first purpose built institute for research into palliative care and rehabilitation. It will be open to the general public on the afternoon of September 16.

The institute’s researchers will be available to answer questions from visitors, there will be guided tours of the building taking place every hour., and the Macmillan information centre on the ground floor will also be open.

Additionally there will be quizzes and the chance to meet the artists who have contributed to the building.

The institute  is located on the site of King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill, south London, admission is free and it will be open  from 1pm to 5pm.
