World Hospice and Palliative Care Day – events in Europe

'Living to the end: palliative care for an ageing population' is the theme for this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day celebrated on 13 October. Across Europe hospice and palliative care services are planning events to mark the day.
In Panevezys, Lithuania, the Integrated Health Care Centre is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their home care service by holding a conference on the theme of conference "Palliative Care for the aging population - love till the end". The conference will be followed by an “Evening of Flamenco” in Panevezys Musical Theatre.
In Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Nizhny Novgorod Society for Palliative Care is organising a palliative care conference is being with over 200 medical professionals invited to presentations on the topic of palliative care.
Meanwhile in Cimislia, Moldova teenagers are planning a ‘flashmob’ to promote palliative care for an ageing population.
Life before Death, the multi-award winning documentary, is being shown by the Czech Society for Palliative Medicine in Brno, Czech Republic.
