In keeping with the vision of 'Palliative Care for all', Msunduzi Hospice was pleased to welcome a gathering of Traditional Health Practitioners from the uMgungundlovu district in KwaZulu-Natal

Partnerships are important in all aspects of life, including health care. Applying the principles of palliative care to traditional medicine is important, as a large number of  South African patients will consult traditional healers at some stage in the progression of their illness.

Palliative care strives to deliver the best possible care for patients. Enhancing partnerships and equipping a diverse field of disciplines in palliative care contributes towards this outcome.

Traditional healers attended a three-day course dealing with concepts of palliative care.
