New alliance champions role of arts in health and social care
The international conference is being organised by the National Alliance for Arts, Health and Wellbeing, a new national alliance in England which aims to provide a clear and focused voice to articulate the role creativity can play in health and wellbeing.
The alliance is the result of work which started in 2010 to develop a national voice for arts and health. Supported by Arts Council England, this work has also involved the development of a Charter for arts health and wellbeing and the creation of a website which provides resources and examples of how creative activity can benefit health and wellbeing. The website also provides practical examples, funding sources, evidence and details of organisations researching and delivery arts in health activity.
