Update on paediatric morphine dosage recommendations published by the WHO

10 October 2012

New dosage recommendations are now available in the WHO Guidelines on the Pharmacological Treatment of Pain in Children with Medical Illnesses, published earlier in 2012.<br />

The new dosage recommendation is more conservative, and replaces previous recommendations in the WHO Model Formulary for Children (2010).

Future editions of other relevant publications, such as text books and hand books, may be updated to follow the new dosage guidelines.

The updated Treatment Guidelines on Pain can be found on the WHO website.
